This small house sits on a large west facing tree covered property north of Wellington. It has one living space, one bedrrom and a study and sits below the original studio built in 2000.
The owners holistic approach to the property is reflected in the feel of the house and materials used in its construction. Flooring, windows, doors and cabinetry details are made from Eucalyptus Saligna, roof trusses are stained pine and the ceilings blonded plywood.
Water is solar heated, grey water is reused and waste is composted. Decks and pergolas that will further connect the house with the landscape are still to be built.
